I contacted Norton *********** (aka ************************************************ for tax preparation I was told the fee is $225 for fed & state joint filing & $25 for city with 1-2 weeks prep time Left my tax docs on 2/7/22 On 2/22/22 i called & was told they're in process & I'd hear back by week end On 3/1/22 received call they were nearing completion I asked the preparer my fee& was told $325 & city prep was charged hourly rate @$250/hr I immediately called my husband to discuss & called back to Norton tax service to stop any further process due to the bait & switch price On 3/2/22 i received call asking for my husband drivers ************** wanted to schedule pick up in 2 weeks Going from a 1-2 week window to 6 weeks I stated the time frame was unacceptable Was told they'd call back with another option On 3/4/22 received return call with a different time frame At that point i asked that my tax documents be available for pick up Was told they'd call back with an appointment time to retrieve my documents Was permitted to pick up my documents on 3/9/22 @1pm Charged $325 to have my documents released Was given no tax preparation paperwork, only my personal paperwork (w2s etc)Clearly a bait & switch scam
