BBB Warns Acadiana Consumers To Beware of Credit Card Scam

The BBB of Acadiana has been receiving numerous calls from consumers that received a solicitation by mail from a company by the name of Union Workers Credit Services Dallas TX. According to that BBB they have a rating of F (see report) http://www.fortworth.bbb.org/commonreport.html?compid=A5041467

Reasons for this rating include:

· Number of complaints filed against business

· Number of complaints filed against business that were unresolved

· Number of serious complaints filed against business

For a fee, this firm offers a credit card that can only be used in their merchandise catalogue. The card membership offers consumers a low interest rate of 5%. The card is not a major credit card. According to the company " Union Workers Credit Services offer their members several direct and discount benefits with a Guaranteed $10,000.00 dollar credit limit.” (A buying club)

According to information provided by one consumer, "He was led to believe he would receive a credit card". Another customer stated," What I received was a paper card and a magazine to order from". Another customer stated "I would like my $37.00 refunded to me by cashier’s check".
